I've started a new routine. Rather than watching the local news, Good Morning America and LIVE with Regis & Kelly, I've been listening to music in the mornings while getting read for the day at work. Most recently, I've been tuning in to the John Mark McMilian station on Pandora. It's a great mix to get me going.
On Monday, a song came on that caught the attention of my ears and wowed me.
"Whatever You're Doing (Something Heavenly)" by Sanctus Real. The chorus puts into words what my heart has been praying lately. I love it when that happens. While ironing my shirt, I stop and say, "Yeah! Exactly!"
I want to share the lyrics of this song with you and encourage you to stay focused and look for Him.
It's time for healing time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
Time to make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
And all I can do is surrender
(Chorus)
Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but somehow there's peace
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
but I'm giving in to something Heavenly
Time for a milestone
Time to begin again
Reevaluate who I really am
Am I doing everything to follow Your will
Or just climbing aimlessly over these hills
So show me what it is You want from me
I give everything I surrender...
To...
(Chorus)
Time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out
That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to release all my held back tears
Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something bigger than me
Larger than life something Heavenly
Whatever You're doing inside of me
It feels like chaos but now I can see
This is something bigger than me
Larger than life something Heavenly
Something Heavenly
It's time to face up
Clean this old house
Time to breathe in and let everything out

Hiking in NC Mountains
Went on a hiking trip today. We drove North-West out of Charlotte - about 2 hours. Our first stop was in Linville, NC. We hiked some of the Linville Waterfall Trails. Saw some amazing views. (See pictures above) I love to be surrounded by God's creations, as he intended.
From there, we drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Grandfather Mountain. We stopped and chatted with the lady working the gate and got some 'local tips'. Took some pictures of a couple of deer (since my Florida friend was somewhat amazed with them. Our deer are their gators...)
We headed to Blowing Rock, and ate lunch at Canyons of the Blue Rige. Great views. From there, we drove down the hill and stopped in Boone. We stopped at their visitor's center and again, picked up some info from the locals. They recommended a Cheese Factory in West Jefferson. It was a bit out of our way, (further north) but it was free, and Cori and I love cheese! :) (Sorry Sami.) I asked the visitor's center guy for the actual address (the brochure only gave the street name), and he assured me that there was only 2 streets in West Jefferson - and only one cheese factory - I couldn't miss it. We didn't! It was really more of a cheese store than an factory, but we got a good laugh out of the silliness of the journey. After I bought some Smoked Cheddar, we loaded up and headed back to Charlotte.
It really was a fun day, in the mountains of North Carolina.

Pray
"Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your strength. Pray for strength equal to your tasks. Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle."
